Clubhouse: The Play; An Our Stories Adaptation!

Recently, Anna Benedict took part in hosting Clubhouse: The Play. The play centered around Anna’s on-going Our Stories Project (OSP). OSP partners university students with adults navigating serious mental illness at local Clubhouses to co-write Clubhouse members’ life stories and later publish them in a book. Through the OSP, Anna has published three books, impacting nearly 200 students and Clubhouse members. Now, the Clubhouse of St. Joseph County has adapted stories from the book into a play to fight stigma around serious mental illness. Monologues in the play were drawn directly from narratives in the OSP from the Covid-19 Pandemic.

We are so proud of Anna’s continuous work to fight stigma of serious mental illness and build meaningful relationships with local Clubhouses through the OSP. You can find more information about this inspiring project, including where to watch recordings of the play, at this link Clubhouse: The Play — Clubhouse of St. Joseph County
